This year's event celebrates LFS' founding in 1892 as two orphanages in Omaha and Fremont. Over the last 125 years, LFS has grown to strengthen families, heal those afflicted by trauma and welcome newcomers fleeing persecution from all over the world.

The Completely KIDS Guild is hosting a brand-new fall fundraiser celebrating the nonprofit's impact on families living in and around the neighborhood where Completely KIDS headquarters are located. On Sept. 28, "Night in the Neighborhood: Celebrating 10 Years" will commemorate the move Completely KIDS made 10 years ago to its current location at 26th Street and St. Mary's Avenue in the Park East Neighborhood. Additionally, the event marks 25 years of success under Executive Director Penny Parker.  The evening will embrace the culture and flair of the area's Latino influences, and will include Latino-inspired food stations by Jeff Snow of Catering Creations, beer and margaritas, as well as many unique ways to give back to Completely KIDS.

These events highlight the importance of high quality afterschool programs and the youth who attend them. Each year, CFY has hosted this event with great success. Over 1500 youth and adults gather to enjoy lunch, hands on activities, community exhibits, parent activities, and performances by local talent and youth from various afterschool programs in the community.
