Fighting for the Good Life: Nebraskans and the Great War

Date

Aug 18, 2018 to Jan 27, 2019

Description

In 1917-18, citizens around the country rallied to the call for service when the United States entered the First World War. Many immigrants in Omaha had already joined the armies of their homelands but after April 1917 everyone felt the fight. Men took up arms, women trained as field nurses and children led scrap drives. In 2018, The Durham Museum will commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the end of the First World War with an exhibit to highlight its impact on those in Omaha and the surrounding region.
