Heat the Streets Run and Walk for Warmth

Date

Mar 3, 2018
07:00 AM until 12:00 AM

Description

With winter nearly here, there is a chill in the air and the days have gotten shorter. For those with limited incomes, the stark reality of winter means making the difficult choice between food and warmth - with warmth being the usual sacrifice. That is why the utilities serving the Omaha metro are once again joining together to ask for your participation and support in their annual Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth campaign. Black Hills Energy, Metropolitan Utilities District and Omaha Public Power District have partnered with five agencies to provide energy assistance through the Heat the Streets fundraising campaign under the umbrella of the non-profit, Common Fund of the Heartland. As an added benefit, households that enroll in the program are also eligible to receive financial counseling services. The funds raised through this campaign are managed and distributed to those who are elderly or disabled, or families who have fallen on hard times and need help getting back on their feet.

Cost $40 for th run, 30 for the walk
