Boys Town is Nation's 100 Best Communities for Young People

Boys Town announced today it has been named a winner of Alliance’s 100 Best Communities for Young People competition presented by ING. The honor was announced by America’s Promise Alliance, the nation’s largest partnership organization dedicated to youth and children. Boys Town’s 2010 recognition marks the fourth win for Boys Town in the competition.

UNMC research shows folic acid can reduce congenital heart defects

It has long been known that taking folic acid during pregnancy can reduce neural tube defects in newborns. More recently, evidence has accumulated that folic acid also may reduce congenital heart defects. However, research progress has been limited, because there were few clues about the molecular or biological basis of folic acid’s effect on newborns.
