Are you looking for an art show that fully encompasses all mediums? Looking for new art to purchase? If so, check out the Girl Scouts artVenture. The seventh annual artVenture is back with added momentum. This year, artVenture will spread across Nebraska with events in Grand Island, Kearney, and Lincoln. The largest event will be in Omaha, but this year Girl Scouts in further communities were invited to get involved.

Rick Anderson has all the makings of the quintessential American success story. Starting with a passion for photography that first showed itself as a young child and now the break-out talent and results that have him poised on the start of a regionally and nationally recognizable career. "As a kid I grew up near Candlewood Lake, and at the time that was pretty much the end of the city," Anderson said with a chuckle. "Well, they used to launch hot air balloons from around there. So, Id always jump on my bike, grab my camera and cruise up to where they were launching from to take pictures."

The Omaha Community Playhouse Foundation announced the beginning of the public phase of an Endowment Campaign to “preserve the tradition and secure the future” of Playhouse programs and productions. Campaign Chairman, John Gottschalk, announced that over $3,100,000 has already been committed towards a total $6,000,000 campaign goal. Reaching this goal will ensure the current level of Playhouse programming.

Each month, KVNO honors the gift of the arts in our youth by recognizing an outstanding student musician, or “Classical Kid.” A panel of local music educators and KVNO staff members choose a youth whose musical efforts exemplify the value and richness of the arts in a young person’s life.
