Melissa Saunders, an Omaha native, hold master's degrees in both education and counseling, and worked as an elementary school teacher and elementary school counselor in the Metro area for 12 years. She is now writing children's therapeutic fiction, which is fiction that assists a child in learning skills and coping strategies they need in order to overcome challenges in life.

For 22 years, The Salvation Army’s Winter Night Watch program has helped make cold winter nights bearable for the homeless and near-homeless of Omaha. Goodwill Headquarters Open House

On November 18th, Goodwill Industries will host a community-wide Open House to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters located at 4805 N. 72nd Street in the Benson Park Plaza. The event is open to the public and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Individuals can stop by throughout the day and receive a tour of the new building and enjoy refreshments.
