ANNOUNCING FREE ADMISSION SUNDAYS IN DECEMBER AT LAURITZEN GARDENS

This December, Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha's Botanical Center is offering the gift of free admission on Sundays. Visitors to the garden on Sundays, December 5, 12, 19 and 26 will receive free admission to stroll the poinsettia show, view the latest art exhibit, shop in the gift shop, eat in the café or attend any special event. Sunday, December 5 is Holiday Happening where kids can make holiday crafts to take home or get their picture taken with Santa Claus while sharing their holiday wishes with him.

Organized by the Museum of Nebraska Art, this first comprehensive survey of African American artists with ties to Nebraska is an historic exhibition. Featuring 91 artworks from the early 20th century to today, A Greater Spectrum: African American Artists of Nebraska • 1912-2010 presents an overview of the creative endeavors by 22 visual artists who have lived in Nebraska at some point in their lives.
