ALH Publications is looking for motivated and goal driven individuals to join our sales team. Commission packages include goal oriented bonuses and financial incentives to ensure the success of our sales force. 2 positions available.

Ideal candidates for this position must possess these qualities:

  • Cold calling experience by phone and in person a plus
  • Attending networking events outside of office hours required
  • Sales Executive will be responsible for prospecting, identifying opportunities, building new business relationships and generating revenue for a variety of print and on-line media products

ALH Publications seeks experienced freelance journalists to write articles. Assignments range from 200 words to 2,000 words. A journalism or English degree is preferred; ideally, freelancers are available to discuss assignments, conduct phone interviews and work on last-minute revisions during regular business hours.

  • Solid reporting skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Honolulu Magazine’s “voice” and editorial style

ALH Publications website manager is looking for a interns on an ongoing basis to assist with various duties for the SpiritofOmaha.com website. The position will be for 20 hours a week and must be for school credit only. This internship is a great way to see what it is like to work in a fast-pace monthly magazine environment, while working alongside the editors of metroMAGAZINE.

Responsibilities:

You will have the opportunity to help shape the content and structure of a major local website with several thousand unique visitors each week. Your task will be to help polish, perfect and expand the SpiritofOmaha.com web presence, by integrating new content with our existing online resources. Our Web Intern will handcode HTML updates to various site pages, create new sections and user features, design content development plans and format multimedia files for the SpiritofOmaha.com web pages. This internship offers a flexible schedule with an eight-hour a week minimum commitment. The position is not paid, but we are happy to work with any academic requirements the intern may have, to help them earn college credit for their efforts. The perfect candidate is extremely organized and can work with us to develop and create brilliant high energy marketing, public relations and viral campaigns.Requirements are as follows:

Must be motivated, reliable, dedicated, dependable and honest. Develop media/press kit, write press releases, work with clients, gather information proofread/edit, etc. The ideal candidate is working on a degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field. Proficiency in new media technology skills is a must. A flexible schedule is ideal.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Web Development – Developing/Improving websites, blogs, updating and maintaining websites
  • Update Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. accounts; and other duties as assigned.

Other skills that would be a plus:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
