But just a little extra attention (watering only their feet and deadheading spent blooms) will reward you with fragrant, colorful rose blossoms that can last until the trick-or-treaters come to you door. And, as Moore points out, improved mildew and disease resistant strains are developed every year.
The bottom line is that a garden can be as big and elaborate or small and simple as you want. “The outside should reflect your tastes just like the inside; exterior decorating you might call it,” says Jay.
