Spaghetti Works
The Spaghetti Works offers casual Italian dining mixed with plenty American fare in a relaxed atmosphere. An Old Market institution for thirty years, the restaurant is a popular dining spot for lunch and dinner. The Spaghetti Work’s brick interior recalls its former warehouse days. Antique posters, pictures and an eclectic array of neon signs decorate the exposed brick walls and a classic automobile has found new life as a salad bar. The dining area is strictly indoors, but there is an outdoor patio on which to sip a soda or savor a wine while waiting for your table.
Traditional Italian dishes feature prominently on the extensive menu. Appetizers range from popcorn chicken to fresh bruschetta. Can’t decide? Try the popular combo platter, featuring both with toasted ravioli and cheese sticks as well. Main courses include hot Italian pies, pizza, pasta and stuffed pasta and sandwiches. The pasta is the most popular dish. Guests first choose the shape of pasta, and then select one of Spaghetti Works’ twelve signature sauces, followed by a topping. End the meal with Italian spumoni or tiramisu or an American brownie sundae. Children 11 and under have can choose from a special children’s menu.
For the young or simply young at heart, Spaghetti Works offers a large selection of Italian sodas, from banana to strawberry, alongside regular fountain drinks. Wine and beer, including several samples from numerous microbreweries, are on hand as well. Frozen cocktails like daiquiris and fruit coladas, round out the drinks menu.
Prices are moderate, with appetizers ranging from $3 to $10, main courses from $7 to $15, and desserts from $.99 to $6.
Open 7 days a week, Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 to 9:00, Friday and Saturday, 11:00 to 11:00. Kids 11 and under eat free on Mondays.
