They creep and crawl… but what makes a spider so unique? Visit Omaha’s Zoo Butterfly and Insect Pavilion during Creepy Creature Month beginning October 1 to October 31 to get up-close-and-personal with the eight-legged creatures, plus other ‘Halloween-themed’ insects! All of the insect displays have been transformed into Halloween-themed exhibits highlighting different black, orange and white insects. Each display contains special fun facts about the uncommon species.

Did you know there are penguins at the tip of Africa? Venture down to the Giraffe Complex and join Omaha’s Zoo to celebrate African Penguin Awareness Day on Saturday, October 8. The group of penguins living in sunny Southern Africa is at risk of becoming extinct. This species has declined by 90% over the last 100 years. Let’s work together to save these penguins!
