“artVenture” Teams Professional Artists with Youth

The visually spectacular artVenture will be presented at The Scoular Ballroom on Friday April 16.  This seventh installment of artVenture, an art auction benefit for Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska, will be more incredible than ever, featuring works of art created collaboratively by Girl Scouts (ages 5-18) and professionals.

Girl Scouts and artists throughout the community have been teaming up to make art since December and now it is time to display and sell their creations. These partnerships are extremely beneficial for young women who not only learn about making art in actual studios, but also about making a contribution to a philanthropic event.

“The unique component of this event is that most of the items sold in auction were created by those who the auction will benefit, the girls,” said Fran Marshall, CEO, Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska. “There isn’t another event like it in Omaha and we are extremely proud and grateful to everyone who makes artVenture come together.”

The evening includes a silent auction of the “Girl Scout” as well as “professional” art donated by local and regional artists who work in media such as: glass, beadwork, sculpture, painting, photography, collage, mosaic and more.

artVenture is Friday, April 16, 7 p.m. at The Scoular Ballroom, 2027 Dodge Street, Omaha. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by calling the Girl Scouts at 402.779.8218.  You will find more information at: www.girlscoutsnebraska.org.
