2010 Greater Omaha Young Professionals Council Announced

The Greater Omaha Young Professionals announced their 2010 council on December 18, 2009.

 


 

Jay Palu, architect at DLR Group, will serve as the 2010 chairman and will represent the Greater Omaha Young Professionals on the Chamber's board of directors. This will be Palus second year serving on the council. "I'm honored by the opportunity to serve the Greater Omaha Young Professionals and I look forward to the challenge," said Palu, "In 2010 we will continue our emphasis on making Omaha a dynamic, progressive city for young professionals and look forward to expanding our advocacy and outreach efforts."

The new council members are:

  • Mike Battershell, Bergman Incentives;
  • Andrea Fox, State Sen. Heath Mellos Office;
  • Kristine Hull, Omaha Performing Arts;
  • Abby Johnson, Qwest Center Omaha;
  • Sarah Johnson, The Reader/ABM Enterprises;
  • Ryan Wade, Union Bank and Trust.

Those continuing to serve are:

  • Drew Davies, Oxide Design Co.;
  • Beth Katz, Project Interfaith;
  • Hesse McGraw, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts;
  • Katie Neddenriep, Olsson Associates;
  • Stephen Pedersen, Kutak Rock LLP;
  • Mike Robinson, Family Housing Advisory Services, Inc.;
  • Mark Spotanski, First National Bank;
  • Jenny Zimmer, Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture;
  • Kirsten Case-Penrod, Greater Omaha Chamber.

Members whose terms are up and are leaving the council are:

  • Lee Denker, UNO Alumni Association;
  • John Heaston, The Reader/ABM Enterprises;
  • Rachel Jacobson, Film Streams;
  • Craig Moody, Verdis Group;
  • Michelle Moyes-Dill, Together Inc.;
  • Athena Ramos, University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The Greater Omaha Young Professionals serve as a catalyst organization to retain and attract young professionals to the Greater Omaha area through engagement, opportunity and advocacy. Their vision is that Omaha will be a dynamic, inclusive and integrated community where diverse young professionals want to live, work and play.
