Beth El Synagogue to Present “Creativity and Philanthropy: An Art Extravaganza

On Saturday, January 29, at 7 p.m., Beth El Synagogue will present “Creativity and Philanthropy: An Art Extravaganza” as its annual Cantor’s Scholarship Concert fundraiser. This unique event, featuring oral and silent art auctions with artwork by local and national artists, will take place at the synagogue, 14506 California St. The evening will also be highlighted by a lively cabaret-style musical performance by the Salem Baptist Church Gospel Choir.

Most years at Beth El Synagogue we have held wonderful fund-raising events that utilize the musical talents of much of our membership and community,” said Beth El’s Cantor Beth Schlossberg, who is organizing the event. “This year we thought an art auction would be a wonderful way to showcase that our community and greater community across the country have talents that spread across many media, music included.

“This event will be exciting for everyone,” she continued. “The artists and contributors will be afforded the opportunity to see how much the community values their ability and creations. For those attending, the night will be full of wonderful surprises, lots of humor, and just a good time to be had by all, along with the added benefit of helping so many of our youths to engage more actively in the Jewish community here, at camp, throughout the country, and in Israel.”

The annual Cantor’s Scholarship Concert benefits Beth El’s Youth Scholarship Program, which provides opportunities for youths to attend Jewish summer camps, visit Israel or attend Jewish youth conventions.

Ticket information is available through the synagogue office, 492.8550; for additional details about the evening, contact Cantor Schlossberg (contact info above), who is also available for all media interviews.
