Boys Town and the City of Omaha Celebrate Being Named Nation’s 100 Best Communities for Young People

There will be a celebration and pizza party for Boys Town and the City of Omaha to recognize the 100 Best Communities for Young People distinction. There will also be a short program and inspirational speech by Boys Town High School Football Coach Kevin Kush.



WHO: Boys Town National Executive Director, Father Steve Boes and Boys Town Mayor, Sean Harris help kick off the celebration with the City of Omaha. About 100 Boys Town kids will be part of the event to recognize the 4 year honor for Boys Town and the first year honor for the City.

WHEN: Thursday, January 27 at 3:00p.m.

WHERE: Lewis and Clark Middle School Cafeteria – 6901 Burt Street, Omaha

WHY: More than 7,000 students drop out each school day in the U.S. or about 1.3 million per year. This award recognizes those 100 communities in the nation that are taking real action to help young people stay in school, graduate and prepare for the workforce.

The news media are invited and encouraged to attend. Still and video cameras are welcome. Boys Town children will be cleared for photos and video.
