Marian Announces Chairs for MarianFEST 2010: House of Blue
Marian, Omaha's foremost Catholic, college preparatory school for young women who aspire to succeed as leaders, is proud to announce the chairs for the 29th annual MarianFEST: House of Blue.
The 2010 MarianFEST chairs are: Rick and Jen Bettger, Tim and Jan Braun, Janet and Tom Nichting, Jeff and Mari Reeder Rensch ’80, and Doug and Elaine Wilwerding.
Rick Bettger owns and operates three Houses of Mufflers & Brakes. He currently serves as the vice-president of the Board of Directors for the Nothing But Net Foundation and serves on the Heart of Ministry Board of Directors. Jen Bettger serves on the Children’s Hospital Friends Board of Directors and is co-president of the Marian Moms.
Tim Braun is the Chief Financial Officer for BCDM, Inc., a 55-person architecture firm in Omaha. He also serves as the 2010 Chairman for Christ the King Parish Finance Council and is treasurer of the parish Sports Club. Jan Braun is serving her fifth year on the Board of Education for Christ the King Grade School. She is also a chairperson for several committees of the Christ the King Parent Club and for Marian Moms.
Jeff Rensch is an Associate Broker for NP Dodge Real Estate and serves on the Board of Directors for The Heart Ministry Center. Mari Rensch, a Marian alumna, is a realtor for NP Dodge Real Estate and volunteers for the St. Margaret Mary’s Guild, the Christ Child Society and is co-president of Marian Mom’s with Jen Bettger. Both Jeff and Mari are members of Creighton Prep’s Parent Board.
Tom Nichting, of the Prairie Capital Group, LLC, is a member of the Omaha Community Foundation Board, the Advisory Board for Creighton University’s College of Business Administration and the CUES Board. Janet Nichting volunteers for Christ the King Grade School and Church, and for the Christ Child Society.
Doug Wilwerding is the Managing Principal for The Optimas Group, LLC. He currently is the vice-chairman for the College of St. Mary, and serves as a board member for the Catholic Charities Foundation and Marian High School. Elaine Wilwerding serves as a board member of the St. Augustine Indian Mission.
MarianFEST (Funding Education in the Servite Tradition) is Marian’s largest fundraising event for the year. The benefit dinner and auction will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010.
Marian is unique among Omaha high schools because it empowers young women to succeed as confident, independent, thinking leaders. Sponsored by the Servants of Mary, Marian is a Catholic, all girl, college preparatory school recognized twice by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Academic Excellence. Marian is Nebraska’s only Class A girls’ high school and recently won for the third year in a row the Nebraska School Activities Association All-Activities Award. Marian welcomes students of all religious, cultural and economic backgrounds.
