Salvation Army personnel were deployed to Norfolk, NE yesterday for flood duty under the direction of Norfolk Corps Officer Lt. Xavier Montenegro.  The Salvation Army¹s Western Division, headquartered in Omaha, include operations in Nebraska, South Dakota and two-thirds of western Iowa.



Salvation Army personnel are also responding in Douglas County, NE. Currently the operation is located at King Lake near Waterloo.  The Army will assist in providing emotional care, food and hydration to emergency workers and flood victims.,

The Omaha Salvation Army is sending clean up kits to Norfolk, NE on Thursday morning, June 17 between 8:30-9:00 am.  Two Men & A Truck will transport the clean up kits from Army headquarters, 3612 Cuming Street, to Norfolk.  Donations of cleaning supplies or money to purchase them are needed.

The Salvation Army encourages the public to donate the following items: 

  • buckets
  • cleaning brushes
  • safety glasses
  • work gloves
  • mops
  • disinfectant cleaner
Cleaning supplies can be delivered to The Salvation Army Lied Renaissance Center, 3612 Cuming Street.  Monetary donations earmarked flood relief can be sent to The Salvation Army, 3612 Cuming Street, Omaha NE 68131 or made on line at www.GiveSalvationArmy.org
