Seasons Change, Hunger Remains - Open Door Mission

Christmas can be a difficult time for the Heartland’s neediest men, women and children. You can make a difference by helping Open Door Mission provide toys and gifts through Project Santa Reach out to more than 6,000 boys and girls bringing the joy of Christmas to their young hearts with your donation of new toys to Open Door Mission.

 


 

Open Door Mission and Lydia House will provide more than 107,792 hot, nutritious meals this holiday season to the hungry and homeless in the Heartland. TURKEY ‘N’ FIXIN’S On Friday, November 12, from 7am-7pm., shop for turkeys and non-perishable food items for Open Door Mission at area Hy-Vee stores. Turkey ‘N’ Tour Bring a turkey to Open Door Mission on Sunday, November 7, from 11 a.m.— 3 p.m. and take a tour of our campus.

  • Christmas Bells: Provide gifts for homeless adults who are lonely and need to know someone cares. Request your set of Christmas Bells.
  • Adopt-A-Family: Provide Christmas for Open Door Mission's current men, women and families that otherwise would not have gifts to open this Christmas. Your kindness will touch hearts with God’s love. Sign up to Adopt-A-Family.
  • Drumsticks on Wheels: On November 20th, Open Door Mission will be delivering 5,000 TURKEY ‘N’ FIXIN’S boxes to low income families in our community. This is a family friendly volunteer experience.
  • Did you know we can provide a complete hot, nutritious meal for just $1.92?
  • TOY BAGGERS NEEDED! Sort and bag new, unwrapped toys for Project Santa serving thousands of needy children starting November 1st.

The Board of Directors and Staff of Open Door Mission invite you to the New Life Recovery Program and Journey to Work Program graduation ceremony Saturday, October 9, 2010 2:00 p.m. Garland Thompson Men's Center Chapel 2706 North 21st Street East Omaha, Nebraska Reception immediately following the ceremony.
