Salvation Army partners with Omaha Fire Department and Mayflower to keep food pantry stocked

The Omaha Fire Department, Mayflower and The Salvation Army continue their partnership in a year-round effort to keep The Salvation Army’s food pantries full. The increased demand, nearly 30%, has put a huge strain on the Army’s food supply. This collaboration helps provide a constant supply of food to people in need. Salvation Army “Food Donation Station” signs are posted at all local Omaha Fire Stations.

The public is encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food items to their neighborhood Omaha Fire Station. Mayflower will ensure pickup and delivery of food items to The Salvation Army. The Army will restock their food pantry shelves to help feed those in need during these difficult economic times.

The Salvation Army Food Pantry Wish List: cereal, boxed dinners, boxed or bagged rice products, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned tomato products, canned beans, canned soup/stew, boxed macaroni and cheese, bread, cake/cookie mix, and boxed dinners.

To make a monetary donation toward the purchase of food, please visit www.GiveSalvationArmy.org or mail your donation to The Salvation Army, 3612 Cuming Street, Omaha, NE 68131.
